I just finished paying my tithes off of the fourteen dollars that I made while doing a few online surveys. I was very excited to give my first fruit of my labors in tithes to an Christian organization of my choosing; Because I am one of those Christian who expects and believes that God blesses those who tithes. After paying my tithes, I continue with my daily choirs in my home. As I was vacuuming, I heard God speak this verse into my spirit, Isaiah 1:19 if you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land.
Hmmm, I thought to myself. I am definitely willing and obedient to the word of God. I am willing to pay my tithes even in how little or how much it will be. I am willing to obey the word of God in every area of my life.
God has so many wonderful promises that people miss out on, because of two main reasons. One Lack of knowledge, by not studying the bible and learning what God offers to them and the second reason is just being disobedient. Tithing comes with a promise found in the books of Malachi, Proverbs and Luke.
Now I am one of those writers that hates to be long winded, but I feel these scriptures are a necessary to help build a foundation on Tithing. Note these few verses below .
Malachi 3:8-12 Do Not Rob God 8 “ Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘ In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. 9 You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed Me, Even this whole nation. 10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the LORD of hosts, “ If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. 11 “ And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,” Says the LORD of hosts; 12 And all nations will call you blessed, For you will be a delightful land,” Says the LORD of hosts. This first scripture is very clear and to the point. And I know there are those who will say but its in the old testament. Well, it is a promise from God, and God ALWAYS keeps his promises.
Proverbs 3:9 Honor the LORD with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase;
Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”
There are some Christians that do not agree with tithing, and to them I will just say that your missing a great opportunity in surrendering every area of your life to God and walking in his blessings. For me it is a way that I show God that everything I have belongs to Him . I withhold nothing from Christ, not even my finances. God`s word always prevails and holds truth .The bible tells us his word goes forth and accomplish what God said it would do. In the end of the day, I can say I am willing and obedient to the word of God, Fully and not Partially.
